James Beard award-winning bakery famous for their Kouign Amann

Belinda Leong and Michel Suas have deep roots in pastry. Belinda came up through Gary Danko, Pierre Hermé, and Manresa. Meanwhile, Michel started baking in France at age 14 and later moved to San Francisco to found the San Francisco Baking Institute. The pair met through a class at the Institute, and so began their friendship. While still at Manresa, Belinda began experimenting with her own pastries. She started selling them through pop-ups at specialty coffee shops, and the success was undeniable. Belinda called on her friend Michel, and the two decided to become business partners in the kouign amann master that we now know as b. patisserie.
